Ascension Health in Austin, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Orthopedic department on the day shift, full-time. The role involves coordinating patient care, implementing care plans, and ensuring timely discharge planning in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Minimum requirements include an active Texas RN license and BLS certification, with a diploma in nursing. Prior RN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider credentialed within 1 month of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Texas before hire date.
• Diploma from accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
