Job summary

Ascension is hiring for an OR Nurse Leader at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. The role leads nursing and support staff on the day shift, shaping patient care assignments and outcomes.

You'll assess daily needs, monitor care quality, address concerns, and contribute to hiring and staff development. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• RN license from Florida Board of Nursing required.
• ACLS certification within 180 days of hire date.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Minimum 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

- Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shift. Contributes to or performs performance evaluations of staff.
- Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

- Required Credential(s): Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

- One or more of the following: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

- Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
