Spectrum Healthcare Services is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses for PRN and local contract work in Carmel, IN. You will support ambulatory surgery centers with perioperative care and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure patient safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of recent OR nursing experience, an Indiana RN license, and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Indiana RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience.
• Ambulatory surgery center or outpatient surgical experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in an ambulatory surgery setting.
• Perform circulating nurse responsibilities, including patient assessment, positioning, and coordination of surgical activities.
• Verify patient identification, surgical consent documentation, and planned procedures prior to surgery.
• Prepare the operating room, ensuring required instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor compliance with infection prevention and surgical safety protocols.
• Participate in surgical time-out procedures and verify completion of required safety checks.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical staff throughout procedures.
• Monitor patient safety during surgery and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Perform surgical counts with appropriate team members and document results according to facility protocols.
