Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Services team. You will deliver comprehensive care, communicate effectively with healthcare teams, and have the flexibility of self-scheduling. Required qualifications include a nursing degree and registration to practice in Massachusetts, along with 2 years of nursing experience. BMC offers competitive pay of $39.02 – $90.05, along with comprehensive benefits including subsidized medical insurance and a referral program for up to $7500.

Qualifications

40 Hours per week, 4‑10 hour shifts (Call required)

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC‑Brighton’s nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Education Requirements
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • CNOR certification (preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
Experience
  • 2 years' registered nurse experience required
  • 1 year of operating room experience (2 years preferred)
  • Must be experienced in a circulating role
Knowledge & Skills
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range

$39.02 – $90.05

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
