Position

Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Boston Medical Center – Brighton

Schedule: 24 Hours per week, days (call required)

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records; enter and interpret computerized data.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC‑Brighton nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

Education & Requirements

• Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts.

Certificates, Licences, and Registrations

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CNOR certification (preferred).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).

Experience

• 2 years of registered nurse experience (required).
• 1 year of operating room experience (required). 2 years preferred.
• Experience in a circulating role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
