Job summary

SoftPath Medical in New York is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room nurse with liver, heart, lung and kidney transplant experience, including direct organ implantation. Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment is required.

Orientation begins in 3–4 weeks; on-call and weekend coverage is required as part of block scheduling. The role demands ACLS and BLS current certifications and NIHSS completion prior to start date.

RN Operating Room - Transplant Specialty

Shift Details

1100-2330 with liver call; will cover other cases if no liver/transplant cases are available.

Requirements

These requirements are mandatory and non-negotiable:

• Strong experience in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures, as demonstrated on the skills checklist. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
• Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA equipment is required.
• Candidates must have experience with organ implantation in recipients, not just organ harvesting.

Position Details

Position / Specialty: RN Operating Room

Start Date: Next available orientation date approximately 3-4 weeks out.

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant or RN experience.

Certifications

• AHA or equivalent ACLS and BLS certifications must be current at the time of application.
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start date.

On-Call Requirements

• One on-call shift per week.
• Two 12-hour weekend shifts per month.
• Details to be discussed with the nurse manager during the interview.

Additional Information

• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is expected.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
• Local candidates are accepted and will receive the same rate.
• Pending licenses are accepted.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; late submissions are unlikely to be approved.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts; 40 hours for eight or ten-hour shifts.
• Travelers must prioritize completion of time-sensitive modules immediately upon assignment confirmation.
