Job summary

Ascension in Brookfield, WI is seeking a dedicated RN for the Surgery Department to provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. This role involves preparing operating rooms, selecting instruments, and monitoring patient status before, during, and after procedures.

The position requires Wisconsin RN licensure, BLS within 30 days, and ALS within 180 days. The role offers day shift, full-time hours and opportunities for ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Active nursing licensure in Wisconsin prior to hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• ALS within 6 months of hire date.
• Diploma from accredited nursing program OR equivalent licensure at time of hire.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Delivering professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Selecting and handling the necessary instruments and supplies for various procedures.
• Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient status while managing overall care before, during, and after procedures.
• Preparing operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for clinical use.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
