Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA seeks an Operating Room RN to provide comprehensive perioperative care before, during, and after surgery. You will work with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure patient safety, prepare patients, and manage pre-op medications.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS. One year of perioperative experience or training is preferred; CNOR and BSN are advantageous. Full-time, day shifts in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certificate required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS (AHA) certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification (AORN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, including verifying identity and surgical site, positioning the patient, and completing pre-operative procedures.
• Document vital signs, medications administered, and other relevant details for the medical record.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the OR by following infection control protocols and proper handling of instruments and equipment.

Shift’s Available: Days ($5.00 Specialty rate for OR) Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 8 or 10 hour day shifts Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

We are seeking an Operating Room RN also known as an OR RN or perioperative nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery. Operating Room Nurse work within the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.

Responsibilities

• P repare the operating room , ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly
• A ssist in preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed
• D ocument pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record
• M aintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
