Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA seeks an Operating Room RN to provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery. Responsibilities include preparing the OR, assisting with patient prep, documentation, and maintaining a sterile environment.

Requirements include an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS within specified timeframes, and at least 1 year perioperative experience. BSN preferred; CNOR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certificate required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS (AHA) certificate required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, maintain cleanliness, and ensure equipment is functioning.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, verify identity and site, position patient, complete pre-operative procedures.
• Document vital signs, medications, and other details for the medical record.
• Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols and proper instrument handling procedures.

Hours: 8 or 10 hour day shifts

Location: SouthernRegional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

We are seeking anOperating RoomRNalso known as an OR RN or perioperative nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.Operating Room Nurseworkwithin the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room,ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly

• Assistin preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed

• Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record

• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
