Job summary

South Kansas City Surgicenter in Overland Park, KS seeks an Operating Room RN to perform perioperative care before, during, and after surgery. The role involves room setup, patient positioning, patient monitoring, and collaborating with surgeons and the team to ensure safety and quality care.

Qualifications include a current state RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certificates, and at least 1 year perioperative experience; CNOR and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications current or within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness and functional equipment.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery and verify identity/site.
• Document vital signs, medications, and perioperative details in the medical record.
• Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection control protocols.

Shift’s Available : Days (No weekends or holidays) Employment Type : Full Time Location : South Kansas City Surgicenter - Overland Park, KS We are seeking an Operating Room RN also known as an Main Surgery RN or Ambulatory Surgical Nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.Operating Room Nurse work within the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• P repare the operating room , ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly
• A ssist in preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed
• D ocument pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record
• M aintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
