Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse - Surgery to join our operating room team. You will work in the OR, collaborating with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

This full-time day shift involves preparing the OR, assisting with patient prep, and documenting care. Requirements include active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS; perioperative experience; CNOR and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• State RN license current and in good standing.
• BLS (AHA) certification current.
• ACLS (AHA) certification current within 30 days of hire.
• PALS (AHA) certification current within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, ensure cleanliness of the environment, and confirm all required equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, verify identity and surgical site, help position patient, and complete pre-operative procedures.
• Document vital signs, medications administered, and other details for the medical record.
• Maintain a safe and sterile OR environment by following infection control protocols and proper handling of instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure team follows proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment.

Registered Nurse- Surgery

Location: Mission Regional Medical Center, Mission TX

Full-Time | Shift Type: Days | 8 - Hour Shift

Operating Room Nurse work within the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• P repare the operating room , ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly
• A ssist in preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
