Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an Operating Room RN in Dallas Regional Medical Center, Mesquite, TX. The role is a part-time position (24 hours per week) with 8-hour day shifts, working in the operating room to support surgeons and the perioperative team.

Responsibilities include room prep, patient positioning, and documenting perioperative care. Required: active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and perioperative experience; CNOR preferred, BSN preferred. Benefits and 401K are offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification on hire and maintained.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days and maintained.
• Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days and maintained.
• Minimum one year perioperative experience or on the job training.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, ensure cleanliness, and verify equipment is functioning.
• Assist in patient preparation, verify identity/site, position patient, complete pre-op steps.
• Document vital signs, meds, and notes for patient records during surgery.
• Maintain sterile environment and comply with infection control protocols.

We are seeking anOperating RoomRNalso known as an OR RN or perioperative nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.Operating Room Nurseworkwithin the operating room setting, collaborating with surgeons and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and well-being.OR RNs prepare patients for surgery, which includes reviewing medical history, conducting assessments, educating patients and families about the procedure, and administering pre-operative medications.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Prepare the operating room,ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly

• Assistin preparing the patient for surgery, which may involve verifying the patient's identity and surgical site, helping to position the patient on the operating table, and ensuring that all necessary pre-operative procedures are completed

• Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure, such as the patient's vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant details for the patient's medical record

• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensure that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
