Job summary

Premise Health in High Point, NC is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse in Occupational Health for our onsite Health Center. The role focuses on work‑related injuries, safety, and return‑to‑work programs within a Monday to Friday schedule (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in occupational health or related settings, current RN licensure, and relevant certifications (BLS required; COHN/COHN‑S preferred).

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice required.
• Three+ years RN experience in occupational health, ER, or ambulatory care.
• COHN/COHN‑S certification preferred and may be site‑dependent.
• BLS/CPR required; ACLS may be required based on contract scope
• Experience with health screenings and return‑to‑work processes recommended.

Responsibilities

• Ensures regulatory compliance for clinical operations and required evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.).
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within scope of practice.
• Delivers evidence‑based care to injured workers and coordinates return‑to‑work with the TPA and client.
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Performs and documents tests and screenings (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Administers medications and emergency care within scope of practice.
• Maintains equipment and infection control procedures; keeps patient records up to date.
• Educates patients on health promotion and follow‑up care.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and company departments on health programs and injury prevention.
• Assists with accident investigations and workplace safety initiatives.

As a Full Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in High Point, NC.

The scheduled hours are Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM

Make an Impact in Occupational Health:

Provide hands‑on care in a busy onsite clinic, treating work‑related injuries, managing workers’ compensation cases, and supporting employees’ safe return to work. Ideal for an experienced RN with Occupational Health, ER, or ICU experience.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence‑based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow‑up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return‑to‑work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four‑year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN‑S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands‑on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams
