Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for the Observation department at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, TX. This full-time day-shift role requires an active TX RN license and BLS certification, with a Diploma in Nursing.

You’ll plan care, monitor patient status, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions and high-quality outcomes. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (Board of Nursing)
• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire date
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required

Responsibilities

• Care planning: develop and monitor customized, evidence-based patient care plans.
• Condition monitoring: track and communicate real-time clinical updates to the care team.
• Interdisciplinary lead: coordinate multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient care.
• Order execution: accurately implement physician and nursing directives.
• Transition strategy: manage discharge planning to ensure safe patient transitions.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
