Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool RN to provide high-quality patient care across multiple units at our Main Campus- Glick location. You will perform critical nursing duties including IV placement, blood draws, catheter care, and wound management while rotating through Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down and General Medicine units.

Qualified candidates hold an Ohio RN license and BLS certification, with 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BLS for Health Care Providers current or within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year inpatient RN experience.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float between units: Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down and General Medicine.
• Provide bedside RN care including IVs, blood draws and catheter care as per protocol.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: Primary 7p-7a, Secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN will float:

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
