Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Critical Care Float Pool. This role includes working with patients with complex medical disorders and requires a variety of nursing skills including IV placement and critical thinking.

Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing programs with an active RN license in Ohio. The position offers comprehensive benefits including tuition reimbursement and medical/dental insurance.

Qualifications

• Must have current AHA Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
• BSN is preferred.
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in critical care units.
• Float between various specialty units as needed.

Bi-weekly Hours: 48.00

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN Will Work With

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN Will Float

• Critical Care

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
