Job summary

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Family Care Nursery unit. You will provide compassionate newborn care from labor and delivery through postnatal care, collaborating with OB providers and the nursing team to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes family-centered care, education for families, and advocacy for individualized birth plans within an evidence-based framework.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in appropriate state is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to healthy and at-risk newborns during transition, stabilization, hospitalization, and discharge.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognizing and responding to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with OB providers, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the birthing and postpartum experience.
• Advocate for individualized, patient-centered birth plans while ensuring evidence-based care.

• Schedule: 7 am - 7 pm, Day Shift, Full-Time
• Department: Family Care Unit (Nursery)
• Location: Brunswick Medical Center
• Skills: Seeking Level II NICU Experience to support our youngest Neonates

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
