Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, maintain professional accountability, evaluate the effectiveness of care by other direct care givers, coordinate patient care with other departments, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and perform duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a nursing school (Associate’s Degree, Diploma, BSN).
• Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or applicable nursing compact; meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C‑EFM, or other unit‑specific certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
