MO Veterans Home - Cape Girardeau is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our veterans. The role focuses on implementing care plans, accurate documentation, and collaboration with physicians to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualified candidates must hold RN licensure in good standing, with recent graduates eligible under Missouri Board rules until licensure results are received.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift.
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plans.
• Round with physician and communicate patient status for care decisions.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in EMR.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Assist Veterans with transfers, positioning, feeding, bathing, and mobility.
• Support admission and discharge processes.

Pay:

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

Examples of Work:

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician's orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge

Qualifications:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse - in good standing; or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
