Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home-Warrensburg is hiring licensed practical nurses (LPN) and registered nurses (RN) to care for our veterans with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as an RN or LPN in Missouri in good standing.
• Recent graduates may practice as graduate nurses under MO Board of Nursing rules until licensure.
• Ability to assess Veterans needs and implement care plans accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan nurse duties on assigned shift.
• Assess Veterans' needs and ensure services meet those needs.
• Implement care plans and document interventions in EMR.
• Make rounds with physician and relay patient status and orders.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed with follow-up.
• Assist Veterans with transfers, mobility, hygiene, and comfort.

LPN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

RN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing, or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
