Missouri Veterans Home, part of the Missouri Veterans Commission, seeks caring LPNs and RNs to serve our veterans. Positions offer competitive hourly pay across day, evening, and weekend shifts, with additional weekend differential and experience-based pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift.
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensure services align with needs.
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan per healthcare protocol.
• Make rounds with physician and relay patient status and instructions.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in EMR.
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed with follow-up.
• Assist Veterans with transfers, positioning, and daily living tasks.
• Assist Veterans on admission and discharge; participate in orientation.

LPN Hourly Pay

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

RN Hourly Pay

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing, or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
