The Missouri Veterans Home - Cameron seeks licensed practical nurses and registered nurses to deliver compassionate, quality care to our state's veterans on site. You will assess needs, plan care, administer treatments, and document progress within the EMR system.

Qualifications

• Missouri licensure as RN or LPN in good standing.
• Graduate nurse may practice until first licensure exam results or 90 days after graduation.
• Ability to work with veterans and follow healthcare protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on the assigned shift.
• Assess veterans' needs and ensure services meet those needs.
• Implement MDS and care plans per healthcare protocol.
• Make rounds with physicians and relay patient status and orders.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in EMR.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed with follow-up.
• Assist veterans with transfers, positioning, feeding, and hygiene.
• Support veterans at admission and discharge.

LPN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

RN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing, or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
