Job summary

Endeavor Edward Hospital offers a NICU Nurse Transition Program in Naperville, IL. The NICU is a Level III unit with 35 beds dedicated to family-centered care and single-room setups. This program targets experienced RNs transitioning into NICU nursing and includes 16 weeks with a preceptor and dedicated education time.

Position requires IL RN licensure, nursing degree, BLS and NRP certification, and at least 1 year of inpatient RN experience, with occasional travel to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective Sept 1, 2021).
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
• Current BLS through AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within six months of start date into position.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience required.

• Provides professional nursing care according to the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Employs critical thinking, assesses patient condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors progress.
• Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff.
• Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
• Duties may vary by assigned unit or shift.

Hours: Nights, 7 pm - 7:30 am

Transition program hours are day shift. Precepted shifts may be on day and night shift.

Required Travel: Occasional floating into Peds/PICU, Special Care Nursery and Mother Baby.

Start Date: January 18, 2027

Hourly Pay Range: $37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

This program is for experienced nurses who have a desire to transition into NICU Nursing. During this program, candidates will train with a NICU nurse preceptor for 16 weeks and will have dedicated education time.
