Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an RN for the Medical ICU Transition Program at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. The role is full-time, 36 hours weekly, with a night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. The transition program includes 8–12 weeks of precepted education and 8 weeks of dedicated time.

Start date is January 18, 2027. Responsibilities include delivering professional nursing care, assessing patients, and collaborating with the team to achieve optimal outcomes in a CCU setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• If Associate Degree is highest, must obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of start date.
• Current State of Illinois RN licensure.
• Current CPR Certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care according to the Illinois PDN Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patient condition, monitor progress, and document observations.
• Delegate appropriate tasks and collaborate with the care team to meet unit goals.

Hourly Pay Range:

$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do:

Edward Hospital is delighted to offer a new Critical Care Nurse Transition Program. This program is for experienced acute care nurses who have a desire to transition into Critical Care Nursing. During this program, candidates will train with a critical care nurse preceptor for 8-12 weeks and have 8 weeks dedicated education time.

Job Summary:

• Provides professional nursing carein accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.

Required Education, Licensure, Skills, Certification and/or Experience:

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
• If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience

Preferred Education, Certification, Skills and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing
• Completion of ECG monitoring course
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• 2 years of inpatient RN experience
