Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Nurse for a Transition Program in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role (36 hours/week) includes nights (7 pm–7:30 am) with day-shift hours for the transition component and potential precepted day or night shifts.

Required: IL RN license, BLS, NRP within six months, ADN or higher with BSN planned within five years, and at least 1 year inpatient RN experience. Start date is January 18, 2027.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• If ADN is highest degree, must obtain BSN within five years of start date.
• Current State of Illinois RN licensure.
• NRP certification within six months of start date.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care according to Illinois RN Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Employ critical thinking to assess condition, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to other staff.
• Work as a team member to achieve unit goals.

Position Highlights

• Required Travel: Elmhurst Mother/Baby or Baby RNs in Labor & Delivery and/or Edward NICU

• Provides professional nursing care according to the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations.
• Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff.
• Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.

What you will need

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
• If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
• Current BLS through AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within six months of start date into position
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience required
