Job summary

Ascension Health's Saint Thomas Midtown NICU in Nashville, TN seeks a Registered Nurse for a PRN night shift (Tier 2). This role focuses on high-quality neonatal care in a fast-paced unit, working closely with physicians and nursing staff.

You'll implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and assist with discharge planning while meeting licensure and certification requirements. A compassionate, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.
• STABLE Program certification within 6 months.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (AAP) certification within 6 months.
• TN RN license or compact multi-state license prior to hire.
• RN licensure obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans in the NICU.
• Coordinate care across disciplines for neonates.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning with care team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.


• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.


• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.


• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.


• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.


• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition \"Compact State\" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire.
