Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington seeks a Registered Nurse for the 5A NICU to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to high-risk neonates. This 32-bed unit cares for neonates from 28 weeks to full-term, with a focus on family-centered care and smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges.

The RN will perform rounds, assessments, treatments, and education, coordinating care and developing individualized plans while maintaining dignity, respect, and empathy.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or ADN with ≥10 years’ experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required.

About the unit:

5A NICU is a 32-bed private room NICU caring for High-Risk neonates from 28 weeks to full-term.

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers compassionate, evidence-based care designed to support healing and wellness. In this role, you’ll coordinate, ensure, and provide direct patient care while creating an environment rooted in dignity, respect, and empathy. You will use your clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients across the lifespan.

As a clinical nurse, you’ll spend the majority of your time (>50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care through:

• Conducting nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
• Facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Providing patient and family-centered education
• Coordinating care and developing individualized treatment plans

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience required.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and less than ten years’ experience, an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
