Job summary

Ascension Health in Austin, TX is seeking a Night Shift, Full-time Registered Nurse in the NICU at Seton Medical Center Austin. You will deliver direct patient care, coordinate with an interdisciplinary team, and document in the EHR to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role requires active Texas RN licensure and NICU experience.

Preferred certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation and The S.T.A.B.L.E. program.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in Level 3 or 4 NICU preferred.
• Neonatal resuscitation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Registered Nurse patient care in NICU following clinical protocols to ensure safe outcomes.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to support seamless patient-centered outcomes.
• Perform accurate clinical documentation in the EHR to support continuity of care and quality improvement.
• Assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and support discharge planning for safe transitions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver Registered Nurse patient care by providing direct patient care in accordance with clinical protocols to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Coordinate care as a Registered Nurse by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support seamless care coordination and effective patient-centered outcomes
• Perform accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure compliance, support continuity of care, and drive quality improvement
• Assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and effective ongoing patient care

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
