Job summary

MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute—Old Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Trauma Recovery Spinal Cord Injury unit (6N). The role features a night shift (7p-7a) with rotating weekends/holidays and a bi-weekly 72-hour schedule.

Eligible RNs may receive an up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced nurses and $5,000 for new graduates. Join a nationally recognized program focusing on SCI care, advanced rehab technologies, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for SCI patients in a Neuro Trauma Recovery unit.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, therapists, social workers, and physicians to coordinate care.
• Perform ventilator/trach care and assist with SCI retraining programs.
• Deliver rehabilitation-focused education to patients and families.

Primary Patient Population:

• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Ventilator/Trach Care
• SCI retraining (Bowel & Bladder management program)
• Wound prevention and care
• Specialty treatment and technology for regain of function
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:
