Job summary

The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute—Old Brooklyn in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Neuro Trauma Recovery Float Pool, focusing on SCI, TBI, and stroke recovery with ventilator/trach care. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of LPNs, PCNAs, therapists, social workers and dietitians to provide rehabilitation, wound care and patient-family education.

Requirements include Ohio RN licensure and BLS; BSN and Rehabilitation Nursing certification are preferred; a

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• BSN preferred.
• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or Magnet-recognized certification preferred.

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; rotating weekends, rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population

• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Stroke Recovery

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• Ventilator/Trach Care
• SCI retraining (Bowel & Bladder management program)
• Wound prevention and care
• Specialty treatment and technology for regain of function
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN Will Work With

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number Of Beds On Unit

• Will float across 3 different units within our Physical Rehabilitation Institute

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
