Job summary

MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute in Old Brooklyn, Cleveland, seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Neuro Trauma Recovery Float Pool. You'll provide ventilator/trach care, SCI and stroke rehab support, wound prevention, and rehab education with an interdisciplinary team. Care for SCI, TBI, and stroke patients.

Night shifts, 7pm–7am, rotating weekends/holidays. Up to $10,000 sign-on for qualifying experience. Benefits include tuition reimbursement and OPERS retirement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with current Ohio license.
• Current BLS certification or plan to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in rehabilitation or critical care is a plus.
• Preferred: BSN and Rehabilitation Nursing certification.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; rotating weekends, rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Stroke Recovery

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Ventilator/Trach Care
• SCI retraining (Bowel & Bladder management program)
• Wound prevention and care
• Specialty treatment and technology for regain of function
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• Will float across 3 different units within our Physical Rehabilitation Institute

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or other Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
