Job summary

Novant Health's Neuro Surgical unit at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC seeks Registered Nurses to help shape the future of exceptional patient care. The team supports scheduled brain and spine surgeries and epilepsy monitoring across the age span, including three and older in our epilepsy monitoring unit.

Onboarding features comprehensive orientation with ongoing support from experienced preceptors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; RN license active in state.
• One year relevant experience preferred.
• Must meet licensure requirements and reinstatement rules if inactive.

• Support spine and brain surgery patients and families post-op.

• Schedule: Full-Time, 0.9 FTE, 72 Hours per 2 weeks, 12 Hour Day Shift, 7a-7p.

What You'll Do

• Expand knowledge on how to support spine patients and their families post surgery.
• Assist with epilepsy monitoring across the age span.
• Participate in education sessions on the brain and spine provided by our Advance Practice Practitioners.
• Support patients as they improve their quality of life after cranial or spinal surgery.
• Work with state of the art equipment and well designed rooms.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
