Job summary

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks a Registered Nurse for the 30-bed Neurosurgical ICU on the night shift (7p-7a). You will care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, participate in complex therapies, and work with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient care.

The role requires basic RN licensure, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, and at least one year of acute nursing experience, with a focus on continuous learning

• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Our 30-bed Neurosurgical ICU provides specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. What You'll Do

• Provide specialized care to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, including those experiencingstroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, intracranial hemorrhage, spinal cord injuries, and post-neurosurgical conditions.
• Care for patients requiring advanced critical care interventions, includingmechanical ventilation, titratable medications, intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and other complex therapies.
• Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessments and recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Partner closely withneurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Build your knowledge and confidence in caring for some of the most complex patients in critical care.

What We're Looking For

• Education:
  - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience:One year of acute nursing experience required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  -Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
