Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks a dedicated RN for a 40-bed neuro unit. The role supports assessment, planning, and delivery of patient care across a midnight shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with alternating weekends. You will collaborate with the care team and families, document care, and participate in care plan evaluation.

The position is full-time (36 hours/week). BSN preferred; Michigan RN license required; ACLS/NIH certifications are expected.

Job Description

Shift: Midnights

Status: Full time; 36 hours per week - 12 hour shift; 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with alternating weekend schedule

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• RN experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Additional Information

UNIT OVERVIEW:

40 bed unit specializing in neuro patients. Some of the patient population consisting of stoke/stroke-like symptoms, seizure, brain bleeds, and other neuro type diagnosis. In addition, will see small number of cardiac patients with a couple cardiac drips that are not titrated, and any other patient’s needed placement. All RNs ACLS and NIH certified.
