Job summary

Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital in Novi, MI, is seeking an experienced RN to join our Neurology unit on the 5A Neuroscience Stepdown. You will provide compassionate patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am), 36 hours per week, offers a sign-on bonus up to $7,500 and opportunities to advance within a nationally certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
• RN Lactation Consultant: IBCLC certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire & maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide, delegate, supervise and document nursing care using the nursing process.
• Communicate relevant patient information to the health care team and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to meet patient goals, including stroke care requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Health care provider certification (BCLS). 5A Neuroscience Stepdown Unit: Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital is a nationally certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, equipped 24/7 to manage the advanced surgical and medical needs of our patients. An integral part of being a stroke certified hospital is the Neuroscience Stepdown Unit - 5A. This is a 16-bed telemetry unit. Patients on this unit have experienced a wide range of neurosurgical and neurological disorders including stroke, seizures, trauma, and spinal conditions requiring surgical intervention. Nurses on this unit are NIHSS certified, manage lumbar drains, JP/Hemovacdrains, wound vacs, drips, and work closely with our therapy services. This unit also serves as an overflow unit for patients requiring stepdown care for non-neurological conditions, enhancing the clinical experience for nurses.
