Job summary

Novant Health’s Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU, night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a full-time schedule. The 30-bed Neurosurgical ICU delivers high-acuity care to critically ill neurological patients and offers a supportive team environment.

Care will involve comprehensive neuro assessments, ventilator management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state required.
• One year relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilators and other advanced critical care interventions.
• Perform detailed neurological assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other team members.

What We're Looking For

Education

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Experience

One year relevant experience, preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

What You'll Do

• Care for critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, spinal cord injuries, and post-neurosurgical patients.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilators, titratable drips, intracranial pressure monitoring, and other advanced critical care interventions.
• Perform detailed neurological assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team.
