Job summary

The MetroHealth System - Neuro Critical Care Unit at the Main Campus is seeking a skilled RN to join 6 West, Neuro Critical Care. The unit supports adult patients with complex neurological conditions and uses advanced monitoring technologies.

Responsibilities include neurological assessments, ICP monitoring, and careful management of ventilation, drains, temperature, and CRRT in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment in Cleveland, OH.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Ohio RN license.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• AHA BLS for healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor ICP.
• Titers medications and manage surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature and CRRT.
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurses, providers, and therapy teams to coordinate patient care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

All Critical Care units offer enhanced technology to assist with nursing care, including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and continuous telemetry monitoring.

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult
• Status Epilepticus
• Encephalitis
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments
• ICP Monitoring
• Medication titration
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT

Personnel RN will work with:

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

Number of beds on unit:

• 8 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
