Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital, Department of Neurology, seeks an experienced pediatric RN to join our team caring for infants to adolescents with neurological and developmental disorders. This role emphasizes high-trust patient care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary Epilepsy team.

You will triage patient communications, coordinate care across the epilepsy team, educate families on disease management and medications, and support prescriptions, school forms, and insurance authorizations.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• Two years pediatric RN experience required.
• MA RN license required.
• Neurology/epilepsy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triaging and managing patient messaging and communication via phone and patient portal.
• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying plans of care for a specific patient assignment throughout the healthcare continuum.
• Providing exemplary patient care and working closely with physician partners and members of the interdisciplinary Epilepsy team.
• Contacting patients for changes in clinical management.
• Providing ongoing care coordination between clinic visits by communicating with families, healthcare team members and other agencies involved.
• Educating patients and families regarding disease management and medications.
• Assisting with completion of prescriptions, school forms, medication and DME insurance authorizations, and other community networking resources and referrals

The Boston Children’s Hospital Department of Neurology cares for infants, children, and adolescents with all types of neurologic and developmental disorders. From diagnosis through long-term follow up, we provide compassionate, comprehensive support to help every child reach his or her full potential. We went on to establish the country’s first pediatric epilepsy unit (in 1944), the first comprehensive pediatric sleep center (in 1978), and the first dedicated pediatric neurocritical care program (in 1996).

Key responsibilities

Working 40 hours per week: (4) 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday

Minimum qualifications

• Education: BSN degree
• Experience: At least two years of Pediatric RN experience in either inpatient or ambulatory setting required
• Neurology and/or epilepsy experience preferred
• License/certification: MA RN license

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
