Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County, PA seeks a Registered Nurse for the MS1D Oncology unit.

The role focuses on direct and indirect patient care, with a 12-hour day shift and per diem tier II schedule requiring a 72-hour commitment every six weeks and three weekend shifts. The RN will assess learning needs, document care, and collaborate with the care team to deliver evidence-based oncology nursing in a 16-bed Med/Surg unit.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• PA RN License (Pennsylvania).
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn, and barriers to education.
• Documents admission assessments, plans, interventions, and meds and monitors outcomes.
• Uses the information system to communicate patient status and updates care plans.
• Transfers patient responsibility and pertinent information during rounds.
• Recognizes patient needs and resources, including abuse recognition and referral.
• Incorporates pain management and supportive care into the care plan.
• Adheres to infection control standards and maintains a safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit: MS1D Oncology

Employment Type: Per Diem tier II

Tier II Requirements: 72 hour minimum commitment per 6-week schedule. 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 1 spring/summer holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day)

Shift: Day Shift (7am-7:30pm)

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Med/Surg oncology unit with 16 beds in private rooms.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
