Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. Unit: MG1 Step Down. Night shift with weekends; 7pm–7:30am. Full-time position with a 3:1-4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and private rooms across ~26 beds.

The role emphasizes quality of care, documentation, patient education, and coordination with the care team. ASN or BSN required/preferred, PA RN license, BLS, and 1 year bedside experience.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• 1 year of bedside experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs and plans education for patients based on age and cultural values.
• Documents admission assessments, reassessments, plans, interventions and medication use.
• Uses the information system to communicate patient status and update care team.
• Coordinates patient transfers and communicates pertinent information at bedside and during rounds.
• Acknowledges patient needs and integrates care with attention to safety and infection control.
• Incorporates pain management and supportive care into the plan of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - trauma, bariatric, stroke, critical care patients. Unit operates a 3:1-4:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unite has private room and approximately 26 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• ASN Required, BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License
• AHA BLS
• 1 year of bedside experience required.
