Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the MS1D Oncology unit. The role supports direct and indirect patient care on a 16-bed Med/Surg oncology unit, with 12-hour day shifts and a per diem tier II option.

The RN will assess learning needs, document care plans, and coordinate with the team to ensure high-quality, safe patient care. Requirements include BSN, PA RN license, and BLS certification. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify barriers to learning and incorporate education into daily activities based on age, culture and values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents changes in patient condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds.
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral.
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards and maintains a safe, clean environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Tier II Requirements: 72 hour minimum commitment per 6-week schedule. 3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 1 winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and 1 spring/summer holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day)

Shift: Day Shift (7am-7:30pm)
Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Med/Surg oncology unit with 16 beds in private rooms.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.

• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.

• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.

• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds

• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral

• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.

• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
