Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Mom/Baby unit at Texas Health Plano. The role requires nursing licensure at hire, with opportunities to grow in a 36-bed unit and access to Nurse Residency/NCAP programs. PRN schedule includes 7:00am–7:00pm shifts and a 6-week cycle.

Minimum education includes a Diploma or Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferred. Candidates with 1 year of clinical nursing or RN residency are eligible, with 2 years MB experience strongly

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • Two years of Mother/Baby experience strongly preferred
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days and maintained annually required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required

  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Work hours: PRN, 7:00am – 7:00pm; 6 shifts per 6 week schedule required
