Job summary

Mercy Fort Smith is seeking a registered nurse to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will maintain accountability for the care of assigned patients and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

The role requires coordinating with multiple departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. The hospital is expanding its ER and ICU facilities, reflecting a commitment to world-class care and community needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program.
• Active RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Mercy Fort Smith is undergoing a $162 million expansion of its ER and ICU. The ER will expand from 29 to 50 rooms, and the ICU will increase from 38 to 64 rooms. This expansion will enable approximately 25,000 additional patient visits per year. This significant development will allow us to better meet the needs of our community in a world-class environment.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure:
  • Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
