Job summary

Mercy Hospital Fort Smith invites experienced RNs to join the Dedicated Education Unit. You will deliver patient care on a Medical Telemetry unit with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio and mentor nursing students in a hands-on educational setting.

Expect a full-time role with a $10,000 sign-on bonus, no contract, and opportunities to grow leadership skills within Mercy. Active RN licensure and BLS/ACLS along with AHA provider certification are required or to be obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing with an RN credential.
• Licensure: Active RN license in hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certifications: AHA Healthcare Provider, ACLS and BLS; must obtain within 90 days if needed.
• Experience: At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Medical Telemetry unit (4:1 ratio).
• Serve as a preceptor to two senior nursing students for hands-on learning.
• Collaborate with clinical rotation preceptor for oversight and guidance.

Our Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit is an 18-bed unit focused on teaching eager and upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful. We are looking to build a team of highly engaged nurses who have a passion for education, patient care, and best practices. This unit will care for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students who will take total care of the 4 patients. A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support/oversight of the students. Qualifications

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probationary period. Must have ACLS and BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire.
