Job summary

Methodist Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg/Telemetry team. The RN will manage episodes of patient care in partnership with patients, families and other providers to ensure safe, quality health care.

This role may include direct patient care or coordinating and supervising care provided by Nursing Assistants. Work schedule is 0.75 FTE with straight overnight 12-hour shifts and every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Minnesota RN license.
• BSN preferred; BSN expected within 2 years of hire.
• Completion of an RN nursing degree program (ADN/BSN/MSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and coordinate care with the care team.
• Supervise nursing assistants and other unlicensed personnel.
• Deliver safe, high-quality health care and manage care episodes.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree program in Nursing. BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.

• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
