Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Float Pool on a 0.75 FTE basis with rotating day/night 12-hour shifts and every third weekend. The RN will manage patient care in collaboration with the care team and coordinate supervision of support staff.

Qualifications include telemetry and critical care experience; a nursing degree (associate, BSN preferred) with BSN planned within 2 years. Valid Minnesota RN license and BLS per AHA guidelines are required.

Qualifications

• Telemetry experience and critical care background are required.
• BSN preferred and BSN within 2 years of hire is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, families, and other providers.
• Coordinate and supervise patient care delegated to Nursing Assistants and other staff.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

Work Schedule:

0.75 FTE, Rotating Day/Night 12-hour shifts & every third weekend

Required Qualifications:

• Telemetry experience required, critical care experience preferred.
• Completion of an associate, baccalaureate, or master’s degree program in Nursing.BSN preferred and generally expected that BSN is obtained within 2 years of hire.
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
