Boston Medical Center (BMC) is recruiting a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical/Med Surge Float Pool. The RN will provide 24/7 clinical care in med/surge and IMCU areas, with a team of about 70 RN staff. Join a Magnet-recognized organization dedicated to equitable care and professional growth.

Competenze

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.

ABOUT THE Medical Surgical/Med Surge Float Pool DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:

The Med/Surge Flo RNs provide 24/7 clinical excellence for med/surge and IMCU areas. The team consists of approximately 70 RN staff with diverse clinical expertise. Nurses must be flexible and versatile. They enjoy the challenge of the variety of experiences that the float pool provides. Float pool nurses care for medical and surgical adult and pediatric (over 15) populations as well as the IMCU patient population after specialized classes and training, and Patients in the Observation unit. Float pool nurses rise to the challenge of opening and staffing surge units when necessary. Working in the float pool hones your med-surge skills and provides a clinical overview of BMC that is unparalleled in any other med/surge area.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an RN in the Medical Surgical, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
