Job summary

Westfields Hospital & Clinic in Wisconsin seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients in the Med/Surg department in collaboration with the physician and health care team. Responsibilities include admitting, transferring, discharging patients and documentation, plus delivering patient care per physician orders and nursing standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a Wisconsin RN license, maintain BLS (and ACLS within 6 months), and may have EPIC experience; 2 years hospital experience

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Wisconsin required.
• BLS Certification required and ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Westfields Hospital & Clinic's Med/Surg department, in collaboration with the attending physician and the health care team, supports and cares for patients in all areas of the critical access hospital. Duties include:

• Assesses, admits, transfers or discharges patients and completes all necessary documentation.
• Performs basic patient care responsibilities as ordered by the physician and per standards of nursing care, considering age-appropriate needs.
• Evaluates the patient’s condition and response to treatments, notifying the physician, charge nurse and other care givers as appropriate.

Work Schedule

• 32 hours weekly - 0.8 FTE
• Evening and Night shifts
• 8 hr shifts during the week, 12 hr shifts on the weekends
• Every third weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin required.
• BLS Certification required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EPIC computer system
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience, preferably high obs, progressive care, or ICU experience.
