Qualifications

  • RN licensure current in state of practice.
  • Minimum 1 year professional nursing experience in long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care ensuring patient safety.
  • Develop and maintain nursing policies reflecting current standards of practice and facility philosophy.
  • Establish infection control program to prevent disease transmission.
  • Conduct staff training on hand washing, isolation techniques and universal precautions.
  • Develop and direct facility orientation and training for new partners.
  • Develop and conduct in-service education programs for facility staff.
  • Screen prospective admissions for level of care and needs.
  • Audit clinical records for accuracy and documentation of the plan of care.
  • Address staffing shortages and notify Health Services Director as needed.
  • Supervise Certified Nurse Assistants.
  • Gather data, assess situations, investigate issues, and report findings to leadership.
  • Conduct QA rounds and regulatory compliance checks to improve quality.
