Job summary

Missouri Veterans Home - Mt. Vernon is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate care to our state’s heroes. You will work with a dedicated team to follow individualized care plans, document observations, and support veterans with daily activities.

Responsibilities include vitals, grooming, mobility, and timely communication with nursing staff. Weekend and overtime shifts may be required to ensure continuous quality care for veterans.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid certified nursing assistant certification.
• Experience providing compassionate care to veterans is a plus.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Veteran care and support according to the individualized care plan.
• Communicate and document information to nursing staff regarding Veterans’ needs, preferences, and/or complaints.
• Attend to individual needs of Veterans including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, mobility, and skin care as required.
• Accurately perform and document vitals, heights, and weights.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and daily activities; work overtime as needed.

Hourly Pay

• $18.35 - $18.69 day shift
• $20.35 - $20.69 evening and night shift
• Additional weekend shift differential available

Examples of Work

• Provide excellent Veteran care and support according to the individualized care plan.
• Communicate and document specific information to nursing staff regarding information and observations of the Veterans’ needs, preferences and/or complaints voiced by Veteran/family.
• Attend to individual needs of Veterans which may include but is not limited to assistance with grooming, bathing/showering, oral hygiene, delivery and set up of food trays, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, repositioning, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, skin care, or other needs in keeping with the individual’s care requirements.
• Accurately perform and document vitals, heights, and weights.
• Walk and stand extensively as well as stoop, bend, and lift to provide quality care to Veterans.
• Work overtime as needed.
